A finish lives in a particular place.
A shaded interior, an open rooftop and a driveway carry different demands. Before choosing an installation system, describe the conditions it will actually face: sunlight, wetting, foot or vehicle movement, cleaning and the surface beneath it. That description is the starting point for both installation planning and useful research.
Begin underneath the colour.
An epoxy floor is more than its visible layer. As one manufacturer’s example, Sika’s Sikafloor-1205 guidance calls for checks of substrate moisture, relative humidity and dew point, and identifies a UV-resistant topcoat where required for UV exposure. The lesson is specific: use the technical requirements for the exact system and conditions. One attractive sample cannot approve every installation.
Make the research question small enough to answer.
Instead of asking whether a finish is “good for Jamaica,” define the application. How does its colour change under the intended exposure? Can a repair blend with an aged surface? Does a cleaning routine alter the sheen? Does the texture suit the intended use? Each question calls for a recorded method and a comparison that can be repeated.
Carry the detail through the installation.
Edges, transitions, joints, drainage and preparation belong in the design conversation. For a driveway replacement, our scope begins with the existing concrete and formation: removal, base preparation, new concrete and drainage requirements. We do not assume that casting new concrete over the existing driveway is the answer. For a decorative treatment, the existing surface and the chosen system need their own assessment.
Return to the work.
An installation photograph records a moment. Meaningful performance knowledge also asks what happens after use: cleaning, wear, repairs and the client’s experience. Our R&D direction puts that information beside the material and installation record. The aim is to improve the next specification, the next method and the next piece of work.
Bring us the real conditions.
For an enquiry, include a wide photograph, close views of the existing surface, the approximate area and how the space is used. Tell us about known moisture, drainage or maintenance concerns. That gives us a practical starting point for discussing assessment and scope.
